Back to School Shoe Haul 2018

My kids are HORRIBLE with keeping up with their shoes. Seriously horrible.

I’ve bought bins, wall hangers, they have full shelves available in their closets… their shoes still just disappear.

If they don’t disappear then they get left outside, stomped through puddles, scuffed up and if they by some miracle survive then their little feet outgrow them in a few months  anyway. 🙄

I know I’m not alone in this! Isn’t this the plight of every mother?

This school year Skye is homeschooling so I’m only uniform shopping for Mason. *praise God*

I bought him ONE pair of Nike’s that were more for quality vs price.

I’ve given him the whole speech about not losing them, taking care of nice shoes, I’m not buying him another nice pair if he loses/trashes these, etc etc.

Buuuut I’m a realist. I give it a month and we’re digging for literally ANY pair of school appropriate shoes.

So with all of this being said, before each school year starts I stock up on *extra* shoes.

How do I do this on that “just bought 5 million dollars of curriculum and school supplies” budget? (Sarcasm…kind of.)

SALES. Obviously.

Every year I pretty much hit up the same stores. Target & Walmart. Clearance aisles.

August also falls around the change of seasons so things are pretty heavily marked down.

At Walmart I found this pair of shoes marked down to $3. They’re basically styrofoam but… we’re going for quantity here. Does it fit? Will he have a pair to shoes to wear when he’s lost the others? Yes to both. #win

Walmart’s discount shoe section is usually pretty picked over so I left happy with that find!

Target was like… the mother load.

There are sales EVERYwhere. I was in a rush to go get my oil changed so I didn’t have a ton of time to really dig. But I spotted these great deals!

I LOVE shopping Target’s shoe sales, because they’re actually a pretty good quality and you can find them very discounted.

And I bought these cuties. Again…. Less than $10? They fit? Yes please!

These 3 pairs will last us at least until Christmas when the big sales hit again (hopefully) so I’m one happy mamma!

Where do you like to shoe shop for your kiddos?
